Refrigerator/Freezer
"We like the unit very much. We are using it as a freezer on our boat and it works great."
A breath of salt air might be bracing to you first thing in the morning, but it can be tough on steel. That's why we offer the Engel MR040. It offers the same performance as our MT35 and MT45, but with a durable, corrosion-resistant ABS case - and more suited for marine applications. All Engel fridge-freezers feature the Engel "Swing Motor" Compressor. Highly efficient, it typically draws around 1 to 2 Amps per hour (check the specs below), about 40% less than a traditional compressor. Engel fridge-freezers run on battery power, 12/24V DC, or 110/120V AC. So whether you're on the road, on the water or safe at home, you can use your Engel to make life a little easier.

"We like the unit very much. We are using it as a freezer on our boat and it works great."
"Unit works great, was shipped fast, and if it was ever used, I cant tell. Buy with confidence."
"I’ve had my 040 going on 15 years, it hasn’t been off more a week or so each year at the most. I use it in my work truck. While it’s hard on car batteries I would be lost without it. I have diesel truck(2 batterries), it can go 2 days but after that truck will be dead. Not complaining just sharing info. Sure beats the heck out ice coolers."
"I ordered a cooler and it was flagged as fraudulent, which it wasn’t. After sending them proof and identification that it was not fraudulent they then shipped it without telling me first that I would personally need to provide my identification when it arrived. Which is completely unreasonable as I work and cannot wait around at 2pm on a Wednesday for a cooler. Been a month and still no refund."
"Very cool. Used it for a freezer to freeze my "fake" ice blocks for my coolers and it worked great. Runs quietly and cools qickly."
"The flimsy rubber corners make the unit look cheap. They don’t fit properly and constantly pop out of place. The performance is good and it easily keeps food cold. It does get a little wet inside but that is easily managed, though annoying."
"Amazingly quiet. Much quieter than my 20 year old Engle cooler"
"The old one lasted 16 years powered by solar panels on my boat, so I bought another, had the door on the larger units hinged from the side rather than the end I would have up-sized. They made using the basket using thinner wire so the evaporator is less protected. I wish they had added provision for ducting to improve airflow if enclosed. And an 12v outlet that is energized with the compressor for a fan. It seem Engel spent its R&D on Coolers. JT"
"Couldn't be happier. Works as advertised.unbelievabke how little power it uses. Love it"
"Unit arrived with one of the rubber corner feet disconnected and I’m unable to reattach it. Also disappointed they don’t have a digital read out of temperature setting. Even though it’s an appropriate initial set point, I’ve used the one on my Engel 45 quart. I’ve also tried using it to freeze ice blocks (some water, some are store purchased chemical ice blocks) and after 2.5 days, have not had success to freeze all of the liquid."
