Description

What separates the ENGEL soft-sided cooler from the competition is the fact that the ENGEL HD-30 is entirely welded while most of its counterparts are sewn. By welding all seams, warm air is kept out, dramatically increasing the life of the ice or ice packs inside. The welded seams ensure there will be no air or water leaks, and allow the soft-sided HD-30 to keep beverages cold for 4.5 days in 90-degree temperatures, according to an independent review. The HD-30 boasts an outer shell composed of durable 840 denier fibers, which provide maximum strength and abrasion resistance. The front and backside are laminated with a Thermal Plastic Urethane (TPU) film, adding another layer of strength and puncture resistance. The cooler has closed-cell foam insulation, preventing air from passing through it and improving the thermal range of the cooler. With a welded waterproof and air resistant zipper that requires lubrication for optimum function, this cooler has a capacity of 32Qts and can be carried with tote handles or with a single padded strap. Like other ENGEL models, the cooler has an integrated bottle opener. New in this cooler is patent-pending vacuum valve technology. Customers should use a vacuum to suck out excess air before the first use for optimum performance.

Rugged good looks

"This is a very nice, high quality cooler that will fit perfectly behind the seat of the car. Very rugged!"

Our Guide Company has Sworn off Engel.

"We have had this cooler for a few years now and used it guiding on the river. We had problems with the zipper immediately. We kept it lubed, but eventually the zipper came off track. Once it does that, the cooler is dead. No Reddit forum to save you, absolutely ZERO support from Engel (they told us it “happens” and that they can’t fix it and wouldn’t even try). It was unfixable on the river, and unsalvageable when we got back. I give the thing two stars because it held ice as well as our other cooler before it became an expensive piece of garbage. Our outfitting company has sworn off Engel - and you should too."

Awful Quality

"First and last product I will ever buy from Engel. The zipper will fail and then you will be left with a cooler that is worthless. Engels quality, warranty, and customer service is among the worse in the business. With all the negative reviews I am shocked they still produce this using the same zipper."

Scam

"Hi Jack, we are sorry to hear about your experience with our cooler. We value your feedback and will work to improve the quality of our products. Thank you. This is what you might hear back if you’re cooler is Defective. Waste of $200 beware of their products."

Great cooler

"The cooler is a winner! It’s going to be an improved replacement for weekend food packing. The zipper is a little hard to get started, but it get easier the more it’s used."

Nancy M. (5/5)

Waste of Money

"Use the handful of times in the last two years, the zipper separated out of nowhere. For a barely used $200 cooler. I honestly think I paid more than that two years ago. Don’t waste your money on this product."

Q&A

Do you need to use the vacuum valve each time the cooler is loaded
You should use a vacuum to suck out excess air before the first use for optimum performance. Then once every few months.
