MHD13 portable top opening 12/24V DC fridge-freezer-warmer with digital controls. The Engel MHD13 is designed to meet the needs of the EMS market for the transport of temperature-sensitive medications, or having cold saline solution available for induced hypothermia. The proven Engel "Swing Motor" Compressor and exclusive digital thermostat controller maintain precise control of temperature (by heating or cooling) independent of exterior conditions.

"It is very well built. The fridge liner is of metal and quite sturdy. It makes almost no sound unless on a hollow floor. I wish it had arrived with some sort of rubber feet, it just has a hard plastic bottom. The LED display has gold film plating (?) to prevent RFI (radio frequency interference), so the engineers were designing a quality product. They also provided some waterproofing to the circuit board. I added a thin neoprene gasket to the lid as it was not air tight; efficiency is very important on a sailboat. The boat has only limited electrical power so efficiency is quite important. The fridge consumes around 12 Watts on average, or 1 Ampere at 12V. Engel specified it to operate at fairly large angles of heel, which is a rare and important specification for use on a sailboat. I would guess it has about 4 months of flawless saltwater operation on it by now. Nice product!"

Superior Quality, Just what we needed.

"We were looking for a small med refrigerator and this one looked the best. We had another one and it has been working great for a couple of years. We are using it with a converter from 120 to 12v cord."

Warmer failed after third use

"I am extremely disappointed in the one with warming function because the warmer failed after 3 uses. The cooler works though. I had bought it because my other 2 units without warmer continued to perform excellently over the years. Stick with the cooler only model."

EMS use

"We have bought 14 of theses units over the last 5 years. Units work great to keep medications at proper temps inside of the vehicles. Units are powered and in use 24 hours and all the units are still running without any issues"

Medicine chest

"We bought this as a medicine chest in June 2015. It has maintained the temperature sensitive medicine between 65 to 75 degrees through the heat of the summer and the cold of the winter. Best of all it heats or cools automatically and uses very little electricity. Our sailboat is solar powered and we have Engel fridge, freezer and medicine chest."
